Part One : Deepening our Relationship with Story & Exploring Autonomy in the Creative Process

This workshop offers a practice-based lab space to explore a story of your choice and to investigate your own artistic autonomy in a mentored environment. Over the five-week period we will offer movement research (with dancer, choreographer and Gaga-teacher Adi Weinberg) and guided sessions where we will open different themes of embodied research which you will explore with your own story (with director Lionel Ménard and storyteller and performer Cat Gerrard). Themes will include: the Poetic Body and story; Characters, Types and Archetypes – approaching, researching and embodying those close to and far from you; Writing – deepening the connection to and tuning your own “voice”. Alongside these sessions will be dedicated individual research time, with individual tasks and two opportunities to digitally submit your work and have one-to-one mentoring sessions with Cat, Lionel and Adi. The course will culminate in a sharing. 

This workshop is for practitioners and artists from any field who work with story in any way. You should come ready to work on your story and to share your process.
